ʻŌlelo Noʻeau  are traditional Hawaiian proverbs that convey cultural wisdom, values, and observations about life and nature.

ʻŌhiʻa Lehua (Beloved Endemic Tree) is a widespread and vital Hawaiian tree found from coastal to alpine areas. Its red, orange, or yellow blossoms attract birds and insects. ʻŌhiʻa is often the first tree to colonize new lava, supporting soil and forest growth. It is culturally revered and now threatened by Rapid ʻŌhiʻa Death, a serious fungal disease (USDA Forest Service, DLNR, Bishop Museum).
