ʻŌlelo Noʻeau  are traditional Hawaiian proverbs that convey cultural wisdom, values, and observations about life and nature.
KMR ALAKA'I

Māmaki (Medicinal Herb) is a native understory plant found in mesic to wet forests, often in disturbed or recovering areas. It has serrated leaves with soft hairs and greenish flowers along its branches. Māmaki is the primary host for the Kamehameha butterfly and provides habitat for forest insects. Its leaves are used in herbal teas and healing practices. It supports mid-story diversity and restoration work (Native Plants Hawaii, UH CTAHR, Bishop Museum).
